Retired teacher, high school coach; USATF Masters runner
"I have been working with Randy for almost 2 years and have seen improvement in both my track and road racing times. Workouts are difficult but appropriate for my age and competitive level. I am mainly a track runner and am competing this year in the Running Journal Grand Prix series. I have a lot of input in my training and racing - Randy is also a good listener. There is a good variation in types of workouts so they aren't monotonous. I would highly recommend Randy to anyone who is interested in improving their times."

"I have been working with Randy for a year. My marathon PR has dropped from 3:03 to 2:57 (BayState Marathon)., placing 2nd female overall. I balance a busy teaching/study schedule with my training, regularly heading out the door at 4 a.m. to run the streets along the Charles River. My goal is to get my marathon PR down into the low 2:50s in 2012, and along the way set PR's for the 5k and the 1/2 marathon."

"'Randy’s workouts keep me motivated and interested in running. He is exactly what a coach should be; the perfect mix of information, proper technique, support, and encouragement!
Between 2005 & 2009, I ran 7 marathons and numerous half marathons, 15k, 10k, and 5k’s. I had become bored with my training methods and really liked Randy’s ideas and approach. My first marathon working with Randy, I took 10 minutes off of my time! Every subsequent marathon, I continued to shave minutes off, with a PR of 3:33."
51 year old oil executive who 'had drifted far from running'
"At age 41, I decided to run to lose weight and improve my health. 5 Boston Marathons later (PR 3:15:21), Dave has now been working with Randy for 6 years.
When I have had consistency in my training, I have been surprised at how easily I can run fast with his program. Staying injury-free has also been a major goal and success of our working together.
Time after time, Randy has taken my phone call the day before a race and given me confidence that I can pull of our goal the next day. This call has allowed me to sleep every night before my marathon efforts. Over the last six years our relationship has moved easily between coach – athlete to friend – friend."

Randy is the perfect fit for me. I’ve had personal running coaches in past, but none like Randy. He is completely professional, knowledgeable, and successful in what he does, but the best part is his rapport and personal touch. He is a coach that celebrates your successes and also understands your real-life outside of your running life.
He is thoughtful in sending good luck messages on race days and I can always count on him to get me my weekly schedule every Sunday night. I’ve gotten new PRs in every distance race - 5K PR @ 20:18, Asheville Citizen-Times ½ Marathon in 1:30... I say it is a bad race if I don’t AT LEAST place in my age group.

"I’ve been running for 22 yrs. After my 1st 10k at age 42, I was hooked. Since then, I’ve run 239 races including 11 marathons and 50 half marathons (my favorite distance). Up until 6 years ago (when I started working with Randy), I had mostly trained by myself.
I really like having a coach make the schedule for me. Randy knows better than I what I should be doing, so I trust the daily runs he plans for me. Randy has always understood the complications of my job(s) and worked to help me achieve my running goals even when life was complicated. I just have to follow the schedule ... a true partnership.
On an age graded table, I’m running faster now than I did 10 years ago! I’ve run a PR in the half. I’ve run 2 Boston qualifiers. I’m running times now that I haven’t seen since 2006!"
