Boston Qualifier and Father/Son Duathlon Team Champions

On July 29th, Morgan Scoville ran a 3:00 PR to earn a Boston Qualifier at the San Francisco Marathon. Morgan ran 3:12 faster over the 2nd half of the course to clock 2:52:52. Great job Morgan!

Father/Son duo Watson and Paul Jordan won the Overall Team Championship at the Island Benefit Duathlon Challenge in Vinalhaven Island, Maine. Asheville School student/athlete Paul ran 5:25 pace for 2.8 miles to give his dad a lead heading into the bike. Watson extended the lead over the 2nd place team with a powerful bike ride.

Mark Driscoll finished 2nd at the Bele Chere 5k in Asheville, running 15:36.

Also, I would like to congratulate Brooke Turner on an outstanding Junior Olympic track season. Brooke was the NC USATF Junior Olympic Champion for Youth Girls at 800 and 1500m. Brooke went on to win the Region 3 USATF Junior Olympic 800m title, while taking 2nd in the 1500m. Ms. Turner went to the National Junior Olympic Championships in the 800m, finishing 12th overll. Brooke finished the season with personal bests of 2:21.35 for 800m and 4:57 for 1500m. Brooke is a rising 9th grader at Tuscola High School.
