A Year Away

After being a high school track and cross country coach for 10 of the last 12 years and a Head Coach for the last 7 years, it seems it is about time to take a year away from high school coaching. 2012-13 was an outstanding year, from Ben Fiedler's gutsy win at the NCISAA 3A State 3200 meter championships, to the 4 youngsters, Constance Ambler, Paige Bradford, Robyn Newcomb and Holt Mettee setting a Asheville School girls 4 x 800 a new school record to the proud feeling of helping 4 senior boys reach their dreams to become student-athletes in college, 2012-13 was a fantastic year. Ben Fiedler became my 15th individual to win a state track or cross country title and he won this title with shear intestinal fortitude. If you had not had a chance to see the race, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sag2fZcbk_A. For the year I will concentrate on building the Fast Twitch Track and Cross Country Club program. I will also continue to coach high school runners through RA Running. And I am just about ready to begin accepting new adult RA Running clients. I will continue to educate myself and build my coaching knowledge to be a better coach.
